THE DETERMINATION OF MOLYBDENUM IN URANIUM METAL USING DITHIOL

A method for the determination of molybdenum is uranium metal is given. Using toluene 1,4-dithiol (1-methyl 3.4-mercapto-benzene) as complexing agent, molybdenum is extracted at controlled acidity from a solution of uranyl sulfate with carbon tetrachloride. The green colored solution so obtained is evaluated spectrophotometrically. (auth)
