THE DETERMINATION OF ALKALI METALS IN POTASSIUM NIOBIUM FLUORIDE

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4163617

A method for the determination of alkali metals in potassium niobium fluoride which depends on the use of both anion and cation exchange resins was developed. The alkal metals are absorbed on cation exchangers, the niobium passing through the effluent. Acid elution removes the alhalf metals from the column, the eluate is evaporated, and the salt is dissolved in water. The aqueous salt solution is passed through an anion exchanger, and the resulting effluent is titrated with a standard acid to determine the per cent of alkali metals. (C.J.g.)
