CALCULATION OF CORRECTING COILS FOR A /cap beta/-SPECTROMETER OF THE SOLENOID TYPE AND MEASUREMENT OF MAGNETIC FIELDS PRODUCED BY SOLENOID AND CORRECTING COILS (in Spanish)

Two types of correcting coils to make the magnetic field homogeneous along its central axis over 40 cm were calculated. The intensity of the total magnetic field produced by the solenoid and the correcting coils in both cases was given. The relative errors of the value of the field at a pcint distant 20 cm when checked against the value of the field in the center, are of the same order for the two types. Relative measurements of the intensity of the total magnetic field along the central axis and along four parallels were made. The results show that a homogeneity of 1% can be obtained over 40 cm along the abcve mentioned axis. (auth)
