SENSITIVITY DISTRIBUTION IN PHOTOGRAPHIC EMULSIONS (in German)

Investigations on emulsion layers of homogeneous grain sizes showed that for different grain of the same size class it must be assumed that a sensitivity distribution exists. This sensitivity distribution can not be measured directly; its form can only be interred from the pattern of the blackening curve. From considerations of the grain size and sensitivity distribution, the relationship for the relative blackening can be determined. From a spries of measurement it was concluded that one ruay assume a lognormal distribution for the sensitivity of the highly sensitive emulsions used. At small grain sizes the sensitivity distribution appears to become arrow. (J.8.R.)
