A field theory is considered in which the equations of motion are known; the algebraic tools used to handle these equations are investigated. In this electroddynamic consideration two algorithms appear: the pfaffians in the fermion fields and the hafnians in the boson fields. The usefulness of these algorithms in their respective fields are explained. Appropriate mathematical tools are obtained for the boson and fermion fields from the relation between Grassmann and Clifford algebra. An explanation is presented as to how this formalism is applied to electrodynamics. The cases of the quantized boson and fermion fields are summed. (B.O.G.)
