Empirical properties of the mass discrepancy in groups and clusters of galaxies. VI - Projection effects
Study of a hypothetical sample of identical double galaxies with circular orbits and randomly distributed relative velocity and separation vectors indicates that the empirical (M/subv//subt//M, V) - (m/subv//subt//M,R) -, and (V, R) -relations for double galaxies are almost certainly caused by projection effects.
