SOME EXPERIENCES OF CALDER HALL POWER REACTORS (in German)

Journal Article · · VDI Zeitschrift
OSTI ID:4158593

The performance and operational problems encountered with the Calder Hall power reactors are discussed. A discussion is presented of the experiments which were made to determine reactor response to changes in operating conditions after the temperature coefficient of the moderator became positive through plutonium formation. The accumulation of stored energy in the graphite of the reactors is discussed relative to approximate time before annealing. Radiation levels around the reactor are discussed. (C.J.G.)
