Spun-fiberglass air filters were constructed for Oak Harbor's water pumping stations. The underground supply is protected by nature from radioactive fallout and the air filters were designed to prevent contamination of the water through the air supply of the gasoline powered engines to be used in the pumping process if the mainland power supply were inoperative. Fiberglass filters were also installed on the air vents of the ground-level water-storage tanks. The details of construction of the filters are presented. (Public Health Eng.
