The three companies of Tokyo Electric Power Co., Tohoku Electric Power Co. and Japan COM Co. had constructed Coal-Water Mixture (CWM) production plant, two trains with a capacity of 15t/h each, at Japan COM Co.`s Onahama factory. The purpose of this was introduction of 70,000 tons of CWM annually to Nakoso Power Station`s Unit No. 8 of Joban Joint Power Co. for partial use. The product CWM was transported by tank-lorries and supplied total amount of about 363,500 tons during the period from Feb. 1988 to the end of 1992. Through the accumulation of large scale CWM production technology and the improvement of the facilities, we have achieved steady progress towards CWM commercialization and have obtained a great deal of promising results.
