OSTI ID:4155239

An elemental carbon target enriched to 66% in C/sup 13/ was bombarded with 14.8-Mev deuterons. The triton group corresponding to the 7.65-Mev level in C/sup 12/ was magnetically analyzed and detected with scintillator at laboratory angles between 10 and 70 degrees. The angular distribution shows good agreement with Butler theory for 1/sub n/- 1, r/sub o/ = 5.5 x 10/sup -13/ cm; the cross section at the maximum of the angular distribution is 0.38 plus or minus 20% mb/ sterad. The reduced width of the level relative to ground state in C/sup 12/ is 0.043. (auth)
