PHOTOTROPY: A LITERATURE REVIEW

A review was made of phototropic-phenomenon literature and limited to articles referenced in Chemisches Zentralblatt from 1860 to 1910 and in Chemical Abstracts from 1907 to 1955. Some books dealing with pbotochemistry were also reviewed. The review is divided into five sections: an introduction, a listing of phototropic solids and solutions, properties of solutions exhibiting phototropy, properties of solids exhibiting phototropy, and the theory of phototropy.
