Tunable dye laser pumped transversely by an ultraviolet laser

Journal Article · · Sov. J. Quant. Electron. (Engl. Transl.), v. 5, no. 4, pp. 461-462

A report is made of the construction of a rhodamine 6G laser pumped transversely by an ultraviolet nitrogen laser. The width of the spectrum of the dye laser was approx.0.002 nm, its output power was 2.5 kW, and it was characterized by a good frequency reproducibility. The dye laser was tunable over a range of 35 nm with a maximum at lambda = 590 nm for a given dye concentration.
