DEUTERON PRODUCTION IN p-p COLLISIONS IN THE RANGE 1.5 TO 2.5 Bev

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. Letters
The p + p yields d + pi /sup +/ reaction was investigated at incident energies of 1.5 --2.5 Bev. The absolute differential cross section of the reaction was determined. A sharp rise was found in the cross section, and this effect is interpreted quantitatively in terms of a one-pion-exchange model and the isospin I = 3/2 resonance in pi /sup +/p scattering at 1.35 Bev.
