EFFECT OF FAST NEUTRONS ON THE THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY OF GERMANIUM AND SILICON (in French)

Journal Article · · J. Phys.
Germanium and silicon crystals are irradiated with fission neutrons to integrated fluxes of 1.2 x 10/sup 19/ cm/sup -2/. The thermal conductivity of the samples is measured before and after irradiation as a function of temperature between 80 and 300 deg K. In the whole of the temperature range, the thermal conductivity decreases with respect to that measured before irradiation. The results are interpreted from the shape of the curves of the additional thermal resistivity. (auth)
