Excitation mechanism in the Na$sup +$+Ne system

Journal Article · · JETP Lett. (USSR) (Engl. Transl.), v. 21, no. 11, pp. 299-300

The polarizations and intensities of the components of the spectral lines Na(3p) and Ne(2p$sup 5$3p) are calculated and the possible mechanism of their excitation in Na$sup +$+Ne collisions at high energies are discussed. The effect of maximum polarization of the J=1$Yields$J'=0 lines is explained.
