Continuously operating high-pressure carbon dioxide laser with a tuning range of 800 MHz

Journal Article · · Sov. J. Quant. Electron. (Engl. Transl.), v. 5, no. 2, pp. 257-258
An investigation was made of the conditions for the maximum tuning range of the emission frequency of a cw high-pressure CO$sub 2$ laser. A tuning range of approx.800 MHz was obtained experimentally for several vibration-rotational transitions in the CO$sub 2$ molecule. Theoretical estimates were made of the maximum tuning range and optimum pressure. The experimental and theoretical results were compared.
