RADIOACTIVE ATOMS DISTRIBUTION IN AROMATIC COMPOUNDS LABELLED BY EXPOSURE TO TRITIUM GAS

Journal Article · · Intern. J. Appl. Radiation and Isotopes
Distribution of tritium atoms in chlorobenzene, nitrobenzene, and anisole, labeled by contact with H/sup 3/ gas, was determined. In all the substances examined. ortho and para positions account for about 2/3 of the radioactivity of the pure tritiated compound. The ratio of activity found in para and meta positions. ranges from 1: 1 in the chlorobenzene to l: 0.6 in the anisole and l:4 in the nitrobenzene. depending on the nature of the substituent groups in the irradiated compound.
