THE PROBLEMS OF PHOTOGRAPHIC DOSE MEASUREMENTS OF CONVENTIONAL AND ULTRAHARD RADIATION (in German)

Journal Article · · Strahlentherapie (West Germany)
OSTI ID:4143059
S>Hardness factors for radiation of 70 Kv, 200 Kv, Co/sup 60/, and 17 Mev at the water surface and in different depths of a water phantom were determined by the use of blackening curves. The results show a significant dependence of the hardness factors on water depth and field size. Theoretical considerations show that the film dosimetry of phantom measurements has certain minimum errors; e.g. up to plus or minus 16% for Co/sup 60/ and phantom depths between 0 and 20 cm, and about plus or minus 27% for conventional radiation with a half value layer of about 1 mm Cu.
