UNIVERSAL SCINTILLATION COUNTER LSU-2 (in Polish)

Journal Article · · Nukleonika (Poland)
OSTI ID:4142662
The counter is designed to detect alpha, beta, and gamma radiations. It consists of a photomultiplier tube with a choice of five different scintillators, and a flexible housing. In one form, the housing can accept samples in a pan- type sample holder, and the counting can be done in either window or windowless form by vintue of the light-tight arrangement for sample changing. A swivel-type holder is also provided so that window-type counting can be done at nearly any angle of tilt of the photomultiplier-detector combination. The detectors are NaI(Tl), 33 mm dia. x 35 mm; plastic, 45 mm dia. x 3 mm with a 2 mg/cm/sup 2/ Al foil; a similar scintillator without foil; an alpha-detecting scintillator 45 mm dia. x 3 mm with a 2 mg/cm/sup 2/ Al window; and a similar scintillator without window.
