INTERSTITIAL-SINK REACTIONS IN NEUTRON-IRRADIATED GRAPHITE. II. STORED ENERGY CORRELATIONS
Technical Report

OSTI ID:4141630
Low temperature stored energy releases in alternately irradiated and 350 deg C annealed graphites showing an increase in macroscopic expansion rate after- initial exposures exceeding approximates 1000 Mwd are the same as in graphites exhibiting normal expansion rates. Reverse stored energy annealing experiments are correlated with the reverse caxis annealing described in other work. The assumption that interstitials anneal to sinks rather than to vacancies can be used to explain these data. The nature of the annealing reactions producing stored energy releases is discussed.
