This progress report on magnetospheric magnetic fields covers the calendar years 1971 to 1974 inclusive. The following topics are discussed: topology of the magnetosphere, bow shock, upstream phenomena, magnetosheath and magnetopause, polar cusp, the tail and plasma sheet, outer magnetosphere and magnetic field models, various magnetospheric processes, magnetospheric dynamics, and auroral phenomena.
