CONCERNING THE EFFECTS OF AMINOETHYLISOTHIURONIUM (AET) ON THE RADIOINDUCED MUTATION RATES IN DROSOPHILA MELANOGASTER (in German)

Journal Article · · Strahlentherapie (West Germany)
OSTI ID:4139677
The influence of aminoethylisothiuronium chloridehydrochioride (AET) on the radiation induced rate of recessive sex linked lethal mutations in Drosophila melanogaster was determined using the Muller-5-method. A significant increase of the radiation-induced mutation rate was observed after the administration of this compound, which is known as a radiation protective substance in regard to somatic damages. liowever, chemomutagenity did not occur. The sensitizing effect was observed in sperm of different degree of maturity. (auth)
