The properties of tetrafluoroethylene polymer at 300 to 800 tained K are reviewed. The pyrolysis of the plastic is treated, with emphasis on behavior under ablating conditions. An effective heat of vaporization at 760 tained K is calculated. New data on thermal conductivity and emissivity in the infrared are included. (auth)
