The study considered a wide variety possible designs for a mobile, gas- cooled nuclear power plant to produce 500 kw(e) for military applications. The study included optimization and selection of coolants; thermodynamic cycles; reactor moderators; shielding; high-temperature materials; and investigation of other variables. Conceptual designs were completed for several systems. Volume I of this report is concerned with plant descriptions; Volume II with analysis; and this volume (II) is the appendix volume, principally concerned with backup material for Volume II. (auth)
