The neutron cross section for the $sup 237$Np(n, 2n)$sup 236$Np/sup g/ reaction has been determined at a neutron energy of 15 MeV. Two independent methods were used: (1) $alpha$ particles of $sup 236$Pu following the $beta$' decay of $sup 236$Np were counted after chemical separation of Pu. (2) The 642.4 keV $gamma$ rays of $sup 236$Np/sup g/ decay to $sup 236$U were measured directly after the irradiation of the $sup 237$Np sample. The neutron fluence was calculated from the $sup 27$A1(n,$alpha$$)$$sup 24$Na reaction and from the measurement of the fission product $sup 97$Zr with a calibrated Ge(Li) spectrometer. The most precise value is 247 +- 22 mb. The error is mainly due to uncertainties of the nuclear data used for the cross-section calculation. (AIP)
