STUDY OF HEAVY ODD-MASS INDIUM ISOTOPES FROM THE ($gamma$,p) REACTION ON TIN

Journal Article · · Nuclear Phys.

A series of bombardments using 25-Mev bremsstrahlung on enriched isotopes Sn/sup 120/O/sub 2/, Sn/sup 122/O/sub 2/, Sn/sup 124/O/sub 2/, and natural tin have resulted in the discovery of the new isotopes In/sup 121/, In/ sup 123/, and their isomers. The previously reported activity of In/sup 119/ is assigned to In/sup 119g/. The results are tabulated. Decay schemes and level assignments are proposed. All the decay characteristics fit into shell model systematics, allowing systematical studies on pertinent nuclear properties. Relative yields of photoreaction on tin are also derived on the basis of these decay schemes. (auth)
