THE ENERGY SPECTRUM OF A HIFAR NEUTRON BEAM

Journal Article · · Australian J. Appl. Sci.
OSTI ID:4136692
The energy spectrum for a beam of neutrons from the Australian High-Flux Reactor, HIFAR, was determined. The neutrons in.the beam were taken frorn a point in the heavy-water moderator 9.5-in. from the edge of the reactor core, and the neutron flax emerging at the reactor shield face was 2 x 10/sup 8/ neutrons cm/sup -2/ sec/sup -1/ for a reactor power of 10 Mw. Crystal spectrometry and activation analysis were used to determine the energy spectra. (C.E.S.)
