Characteristics of a transversely magnetized parallel-plane waveguide containing moving plasma

Some properties of a transversely magnetized parallel-plane waveguide containing moving plasma have been studied. Expressions are obtained for the dispersion relations and the field components for the TE and the TM modes excited in the waveguide. Analytic expressions are also derived for the cutoff frequencies of these modes. It is found that the characteristics of a TE mode remain unaffected by the velocity of the moving medium and the presence of an ambient magnetic field. (AIP)
