Energy levels in $sup 144$Nd

Conference ·
OSTI ID:4134519
An energy level scheme for $sup 144$Nd is constructed with 58 excited states below 3.5 MeV. This scheme is based mainly on singles (n,$gamma$) measurements with both thermal and resonance neutrons and on Ge(Li)--Ge(Li) coincidence measurements following thermal capture. The energy levels in $sup 144$Nd populated in the $sup 143$Nd(n,$gamma$) reaction with thermal and resonance neutrons are investigated. The spin and parity of the $sup 143$Nd ground state are $sup 7$$/$$sub 2$$sup -$. The capture of s-wave neutrons, therefore, leads to 3$sup -$ or 4$sup -$ capturing states. (auth)
