The theoretical foundations for a self-consistent analysis of the neutron multiplication experiments, involving a single fuel element are given. The scope of the experiments is the measurement of such absorption and multiplication constants which occur, for a given fuel element, as input parameters in the heterogeneous reactor theories. Calculations of thermal and epithermal fluxes within the volume of a thermal column, which contains a fuel element along its axis, were made. (auth)
