RELAXATION PROCESSES IN PARAMAGNETIC RESONANCE OF Gd$sup 3+$ IONS IN CaF$sub 2$ CRYSTALS (in Russian)

Relaxation processes of Gd/sup 3+/ ions in the fluorite lattice are studied at a frequency of 9370 M by the pulse saturation method at liquid helium temperature. The relaxation times for Gd/sup 3+/ ions in crystal fields of various symmetry are determined. The relaxation times for ions in a tetragonal or trigonal field weakly depend on the temperature. The absence of a concentration dependence of the spinlattice relaxation time is discussed. Spin- spin cross relaxation times are measured at concentrations of 3 x 10/sup -4/ and 5 x 10/sup -4/. Cross relaxation effects are discussed. (auth)
