OSTI ID:4132414
Research on the application of a combined heat and ionizing radiation treatment to sewage sludge is described. This treatment can be optimized to maximize synergistic biological inactivation of pathogens such as bacteria, viruses and parasites. The enhancement of desirable chemical and physical effects resulting from this treatment is also being studied. (auth)
