A second system of levels belonging to 5f/sup 5/6d7s/sup 2/, 5F/sup 6/d/ sup 2/ 7s, 5f/sup 5/7s/sup 2/7p, 5f/sup 5/6d7s7p, and 5f/sup 5/6d/sup 2/7p configurations were established experimentally in the spectrum of Pu I; the theoretical study of the 5f/sup 5/d/sup 7/s/sup 2/ was began. The ground level of this second system is placed at 6313.6 K above 5f/sup 6/7s/sup 2/ /sup 7/F/sub 0 The energies of the new even levels of the I and II spectra were indicated. The ionization potential of Pu I is about 5.8 v. (tr-auth)
