RADIOINDUCED OXIDATION OF HEPTENE-1 (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Kinetika i Kataliz
OSTI ID:4129619

Chain reactions induced by molecular oxygen radiation oxidation of heptene-1 begin at 8 deg C forming peroxides and carbonyl compounds. Effective activation energy of heptene1 products are lower than for n-heptane (3.8 plus or minus 0.5 and 6.0 plus or minus 1.0 kcal/mole, respectively. A considerably higher oxidation yield was observed with radiation oxidation of nheptane-heptene- 1 mixture, moreover the highest sensitization action took place with heptane concentration below 10 mole %. The sensitization effect is related with heptane energy transfer to heptene-1. (R.V.J.)
