THE EFFECT OF QUENCHED-IN VACANCIES OF STAGE I RECOVERY OF NEUTRON- IRRADIATED GOLD AND ALUMINUM
An attempt was made to clarify the anomalously low stage I recovery in irradiated gold. The first part of stage I for any metal is thought to be due to the recombination of close Frenkel pairs and the latter part due to the migration of interstitials or crowdions. Aluminum was chosen as a metal possessing normal stage I recovery. (R.E.1J.)
