It has been shown that the branching ratio of the Dalitz decay, SIGMA / sup 0/ -- LAMBDA /sup 0/ + e/sup +/ + e/sup -/, to the ordinary decay, SIGMA / sup / 0>s -- LAMBDA /sup 0/ + gamma , depends on the value of the ( SIGMA /sup 0/, LAMBDA /sup 0/) relative parity, being 1/84 for even and 1/165 for odd relative parity. It is pointed out that if a reaction can be found in which polarized SIGMA /sup 0/ hyperons are produced, then the angular correlation between the spin of the do and the plane of the electronposition pair in the Dalitz decay is very sensitive to the value of the relative parity. The spin direction of LAMBDA /sup 0/ may be determined from the asymmetry in the angular distribution of the decay pion from LAMBDA /sup 0/ -- p + pi /sup -/. (W.D.M.)
