After a review of the theoretical studies previously made on synchrotron oscillations, the effect 6f random oscillations on the stability of these oscillations is analyzed. The results obtained with an electronic analogue especially designed for the study of synchrotron oscillations are given. An attempt was made to resolve various problems in the utilization of a proton synchrotron connected with synchrotron osoillations. The three problems studied are fixed-frequency acceleration at the end of an acceleration cycle, the reduction of the length of particle bundles delivered by the accelerator, and the simultaneous stability of two beams during the magnetic-field plateau following the acceleration cycle. The characteristics of the electronic analog used are given in an index. (J.S.R.)
