The space- and energy-dependent neutron spectrum in a heavy monatomic gas due to a point source, as described by the Wilkins differential equation for the case of constant neutron scattering cross sections was Investigated. Utilizing Laplace transformation methods the solution (Green's function) is given in closed analytical form. (auth)
