Temperature measurements were made on the Mossbauer absorption of 14.4 and 23.8 kev gamma quanta by Fe/sup 57/ and Sn/sup 119/ in FeSn/sub 2/. Calculations of splitting magnitude for the Fe/sup 57/ ground and first excited levels showed g/sub 0/ = 1.37 plus or minus 0.15, g/sub 1/ = 0.77 plus or minus 0.05 mm/sec, and g/sub 0//g/sub 1/ = 1.78 plus or minus 0.15. The rati o g/sub 0//g/sub 1/, does not depend on the local magnetic field and exhibits the characteristics of a given isotope. Mossbauer parameters and tabulated data are used for determining the magnetic fields acting on Fe and Sn nuclei in FeSn/sub 2/ at room temperature. (R.V.J.)
