OSTI ID:4122205
Almost complete separation of uranium from vanadium (96 to 97%) and phosphorus was achieved with carbonate and hydrochloride solutions in anionite AV- 17 (symthesized by chloromethylate styrsns copolymer and benzodivinyl amiration). More team 99% of the uranium absorbed by the resin was effectively washed out by 2M NaCl or 1M NaNO/sub 3/ solution containing 0.05M Na/sub 2/CO/sub 3/, whereas 2M nitric or hadrochloric acid solution mixed with lM NH/sub 4/NO/sub 3/ + 0.1M HNO/sub 3/ will eluts uranium adsorbed from sulfuric acid solutions. From hydrochloric acid solution urarium is easily washed out by distillsd water. The AV-17 anionite is chemically stable in hydrochloric acid up to l0M and nitric acid up to 8M. (R.V.J.)
