Focal decreased skeletal uptake secondary to metastatic disease

Two cases are reported in which bone imaging with /sup 99m/ Tc-labeled phosphate compounds revealed localized areas of decreased uptake corresponding to osteolytic metastases on bone radiographs. These cold bone lesions, although infrequent, should be considered to avoid false negative interpretations. (auth)
