The SAS4 shielding analysis sequence was developed to perform three-dimensional Monte Carlo calculations of radiation dose rates of a spent fuel cask using an automated biasing procedure. Biasing parameters required by the Monte Carlo calculation are generated from results of a one-dimensional adjoint discrete-ordinates calculation. The functional modules executed in SAS4 are BONAMI-S, NITAWL-II, XSDRNPM-S, and MORSE-SGC/S. This paper describes applications of SAS4 to other deep penetrating shielding problems.
