The CONTAIN code is an integrated tool for predicting the containment behavior in a severe accident. It models the thermal hydraulics as well as the aerosol and fission product behavior inside the containment. The aerosol dynamics are modeled by the general dynamic equation (GDE) for a well-mixed multispecies aerosol. We have implemented new expressions for cubic and spherical geometries in CONTAIN 1.2. In the absence of coagulation, the suspended mass for both geometries is underpredicted. CONTAIN overpredicts with coagulation.
