INVESTIGATIONS OF THE RADIOISOTOPES Be$sup 7$, P$sup 32$, AND S$sup 35$ IN RAIN WATER

Journal Article · · J. Geophys. Research
The concentrations of the radioisotopes Be/sup 7/ P/sup 32/ and S/sup 35/ in rainfall at Bombay and at Kodaikanal were measur The average concentrations in rainfall at Bombay during the period from June 1959 to October 1959 were 2900 atoms/ml of Be/sup 7/, 12 atoms/ml of P/sup 32/, and about 400 atoms/ml of S/sup 35/. It is shown that the observed fall-out of Be/sup 7/ and of P/sup 32/ is almost entirely of cosmic-ray origin; the fall-out of S/sup 35/ may possibly contain an appreciable amount of bomb-produced S/sup 35/.
