A scintillation spectrometer with a multichannel analyzer was used in an investigation of Kx, BETA /sup +/, and gamma emissions and in measuring intensities of various components. The half life for Nd/sup 141/ was found to be 157 plus or minus 10 min, which differs from published data. Measurements on gamma transitions revealed a new 1145-kev level; analysis of the gamma spectra revealed neither the 420, 880, or 270 kev gamma rays. The coincidence spectra indicate that the 150-kev gamma coincides with the 1145-kev, but not with the 1310-kev, and the 1145and 1310-kev gammas do not coincide with the Kx emission. Data on relative intensities for Kx, BETA /sup +/, and gamma Were used for developing the decay scheme for Nd/sup 141/ with 92.2% capture to the Pr/sup 141/ ground level. The shell model predicted 3/2/sup +/ for the Nd/sup 141/ ground state, and this was confirmed by the K/ BETA /sup +/ and log ft (5.2) ratio for transitions to Pr/sup 141/ ground state. (R.V.J.)
