EFFECT OF ROD SPACING ON HEAT TRANSFER BURNOUT. USAEC-AECL Cooperative Program Monthly Progress Report, November 1963
The Chromalox heaters were operated on the 300-kwAC power supply for the first time. The power test was interrupted by an electrical arc between the connecting pin and the sheath of one of the heaters. The damage was slight and a number of equipment modifications are being made to prevent recurrence. Hydrostatic testing of the star test section to assure safe operation at 1000 psia was completed. Two equipment modifications were required to correct defects noted during the pressure tests. (auth)
