Cosmological model with expansion, shear, and vorticity

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev., D, v. 12, no. 6, pp. 1544-1550
A homogeneous cosmological model with expansion, shear, and small vorticity is presented. For large times vorticity and anisotropy become small. An expression is derived for the temperature and red shift of blackbody radiation for spatially homogeneous spacetimes. It is used to study the effect of shear and vorticity on the background microwave radiation in the open model presented here. Goedel's theorem on galaxy counts in closed rotating universes is generalized to include open models as well. (AIP)
