Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4109454
Gamma irradiation tests were conducted on the fue1, lube, and hydraulic systems of an aircraft gas turbine at radiation levels of 1.2 x 10/sup 6/ to 2.4 x 10/sup 7/ ergs gm/sup -1/ (c)/hr for periods up to 250hr. No serious thermal or mechanical malfunctions occurred as a result of the radiation environment. Radiation effects were observed on the organic fluids and elastomers used in test systems by changes in such properties as viscosity and neutralization number. (C.J.G.)
