MODEL FOR RADIATION EQUILIBRIUM BETWEEN F AND M CENTERS IN KCI

A kinetic model is introduced to account for the F- and M-center equilibrium in KCl. The model includes electron capture by F centers producing mobile F' centers, which migrate to neighboring F centers and anion vacancies to form M centers. Hole capture by M centers then releases enough energy to cause dissociation in anion centers that upon electron capture become F centers. Approximate differential equations are given. (R. E.U.)
