Charging arrangements for pressurized gas-cooled nuclear reactors are described. An improved facility for the rehearsal operation is provided. It consists of an auxiliary pressure vessel mounted outside the main pressure vessel of the reactor that houses a dummy charge face and dummy fuel channel. The auxiliary pressure vessel is adapted to be connected to the charge machine and is comnected in a branch circuit to the main hot gas flow circuit of the reactor so that the temperature and pressure conditions within the auxiliary pressure vessel substantially correspond to the temperature and pressure conditions in the reactor.
